Use of Modal Verbs Class 9th CBSE Board - English Grammar

"Would" और "should" दोनों ही "modal verbs" हैं, लेकिन इनका उपयोग अलग-अलग स्थितियों में किया जाता है। "Would" का उपयोग आमतौर पर भूतकाल में किसी कार्य की इच्छा, आदत या काल्पनिक स्थिति को दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है। वहीं, "should" का उपयोग सलाह, कर्तव्य या किसी काम के होने की संभावना को दर्शाने के लिए किया जाता है। 

Would का उपयोग:

इच्छा या आदत:

"I would often go for a walk in the evening." (मैं अक्सर शाम को टहलने जाता था।)

कल्पना या शर्त:

"If I had wings, I would fly." (अगर मेरे पंख होते, तो मैं उड़ जाता।)

अनुरोध या विनम्रता:

"Would you please close the door?" (क्या आप कृपया दरवाजा बंद कर देंगे?)

भूतकाल में भविष्य:

"He said he would come tomorrow." (उसने कहा कि वह कल आएगा।) 

Should का उपयोग:

सलाह या सुझाव:

"You should see a doctor." (तुम्हें डॉक्टर को दिखाना चाहिए।)

कर्तव्य या जिम्मेदारी:

"We should respect our elders." (हमें अपने बड़ों का सम्मान करना चाहिए।)

संभावना या अपेक्षा:

"The train should arrive on time." (ट्रेन समय पर पहुंचनी चाहिए।)

आश्चर्य या निराशा:

"How should I know?" (मैं कैसे जान सकता हूँ?)
